Triumph for Remote Kaprada: Sahil Chaudhary of Chavshala Ranks First in Gujarat State Athletics

Valsad District Shines at State-Level Competition Held in Surat

In a historic achievement for the Kaprada taluka of Valsad district, two young athletes from the remote, hilly terrain of Chavshala Primary School have brought glory to the region. At the State-Level Athletics Competition 4.0, organized by the Children’s University (Gandhinagar) at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) in Surat, these budding sportsmen displayed exceptional talent.

Despite coming from an interior tribal area, the natural speed and agility of these children mesmerized the spectators and participants from across Gujarat.

Sahil Chaudhary: The ‘Golden Boy’ of Gujarat in Under-9 Category

Sahil Kumar Prakashbhai Chaudhary, a Grade 4 student at Chavshala Primary School, delivered a stunning performance in the 200-meter sprint (Under-9 category).

  • Result: Sahil secured the 1st Rank in the entire state of Gujarat, earning a gold-standard victory.
  • Other Achievements: From the same school, another bright talent, Sahil Laxmanbhai Jadav, showcased his prowess by securing the 11th position at the state level in the 100-meter sprint.

The success of two students from a single small village school has sparked a wave of joy throughout the Kaprada region.

Dedication Beyond Duty: Coach Chendriben Jadav’s Unmatched Sacrifice

The driving force behind this success is the school’s Sports Assistant (Khel Sahayak), Chendriben Ramjibhai Jadav. Her commitment to the children’s future is nothing short of heroic:

  • Training During Pregnancy: Despite being pregnant, Chendriben prioritized the children’s training over her own health and comfort.
  • Consistency: Regardless of the weather—be it biting cold, scorching sun, or rain—she remained present on the field to guide her students.
  • Institutional Support: School Principal Hiralben Patel praised the State Government’s Khel Sahayak scheme, noting that such appointments are crucial for providing rural talent with the right direction.

Accolades from Officials and Villagers

To celebrate this glittering achievement, high-ranking officials from the education department extended their congratulations. Kaprada Taluka Primary Education Officer Manoj Tandel and BRC Coordinator Sanjay Makwana personally met the students to boost their morale.

These athletes, who honed their speed running in the mountains of Kaprada, have proven that with the right opportunity and guidance, even children from the most remote areas can touch the sky. There are high hopes that these youngsters will represent Gujarat at the national level in the near future.
